G. Raman

Born in Chennai in 1942, G. Raman is an accomplished Indian artist and an alumnus of the Government College of Arts & Crafts, Chennai. His distinctive artistic style blends traditional Indian aesthetics with intricate patterns, expressive lines, and symbolic motifs. Drawing inspiration from Hindu mythology, rural life, and contemporary Indian society, his works reflect the richness of the country’s cultural heritage. His paintings and drawings have found collectors in India and abroad, including Japan and the United States. His works are featured in prestigious collections such as the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, and the Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Kolkata. In recognition of his artistic contribution, he received the Kalai Chemmal Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu.
